The Puma evoSPEED SL is not for training days. It’s for your best days. Your match days. It may only be used on real grass. Due to its extremely lightweight design, it’s expected to last up to 10 games. But the moments it creates will last forever.

Interesting, to say the least. The adizero 99g didn’t have this kind of warning, but surely a boot even lighter would be just as susceptible to breaking down in the same amount of time. So the question becomes: Do you applaud Puma for their openness and honesty or rip them for selling you a Lava Blast White Total Eclipse Puma evoSPEED that could rip itself in less than a half a season?

It’s important to note that the adizero 99g and Camo 3D were limited releases, whereas this evoSPEED SL is not. This means Puma is taking a giant chance on the attractiveness of a premium matchday boot like their new evoSPEED SL. The price is $240 retail (or $215.99 at SoccerPro), so we’re talking almost $25/game here.

The tech and design look truly impressive on this release, but the real fascinating part begins when testing starts and we can see just how long these boots can last. Moving forward, this could decide how transparent these companies are with their soccer footwear. Do consumers even appreciate marketing honesty like this?

For the first time ever, Nike today released all four of their famed silos—Mercurial, Hypervenom II, Magista and Tiempo Legend V—with rich kangaroo leather. Together,  they’re dubbed the Tech Craft Pack, and needless to say, they look stunning.

Nike has taken a super soft kangaroo leather upper and laid it over the top of the original upper of their cleats. Players will enjoy the amazing touch and feel of leather alongside all of the revolutionary technology that we have come to know and expect from Nike cleats.

Nike Magista Obra Dark Citron 2015-2016 Boots

A boot that really hasn’t received a lot of positive attention in recent times is the Nike Magista Obra. As part of the Electro Flare pack, Nike chose a fresh Green pattern to coat the upper and at first glance it has a mediocre appearance – that was our initial reaction anyway.



BUT, we then spotted the below image of the boots on the Nike Instagram page and things changed! Under the right lighting, the effect of that fresh paint job really offers a unique stand out look that fits the timing of the release. With evenings get shorter and nightfall creeping in earlier, most of you will be training or playing under night lights. The metallic silver appearance mixed with the hit of Volt splatter through the heel really flashes. We like it a lot!

Performance wise, the cheap nike magista obra is designed for the playmaker who creates opportunities anywhere on the field to control the game. The upper combines three technologies—Flyknit, NikeSkin and All Conditions Control (ACC)—to bring your foot closer to the ball for an almost barefoot touch in dry or wet conditions. From a performance perspective, you get everything you’d expect from the Nike MagistaX Proximo right through the upper of the boot. Once you slip your feet into them, comfort becomes the norm. The entire upper of the Obra envelopes around your foot like no other boot does, and the collar completes a very dynamic fit and feel. Even across the area where a tongue normally exists, the soft knit upper sits flush and provides a snug fit in the right areas. Technically, the boots could be worn without laces but with them in tied you get to really personalize a secure fit.



At this point we are pretty familiar with Nike Flyknit, but as a refresher it is intended to defy conventional shoe manufacturing processes by effectively implementing an engineered upper woven from special yarns. Utilizing a custom Nike last and Nike Flyknit construction, MagistaX offers a snug fit at the arch, heel and forefoot, and the added element of a Dynamic Fit collar hugs players in, locking them down in the boot.

Around the lip of the shoe, these feature recycled Nike Grind rubber on high abrasion and drag areas for enhanced durability. Think of this as the region that sits just above the soleplate to upper join. To the touch, it feels slightly rough but it serves its purpose pretty perfectly.



Underfoot, the Nike MagistaX features a responsive Lunarlon midsole, perfect for a little extra spring back on indoor courts (IC). The honeycomb style panels that line the soleplate are the same ones used on prior Elastico series, so it is obviously an area that Nike have confidence in.

This Monday adidas radically overhauled their football boot scene, announcing the demise of the adizero, Predator, 11Pro and Nitrocharge, as well as the introduction of the brand new ACE and X. Yesterday we went through what’s new about the Ace and today we give you a closer look at the Adidas X 15.1 "Meteor Shower" features, so you know everything there is to know about the revolution.

Straight off the bat, let us just say, this truly is a revolution. It’s nothing like anything we have ever seen before and jam-packed with groundbreaking technology. The World Cup Nike Mercurial Superfly IV 2015 Boot boot comes with the main Safari iD FG White Blue and features a typical Mercurial design. The Nike Swoosh is gold with black design elements; the outsole of the new boot is black and comes with four studs at the back.

Nike Mercurial Superfly IV Spray Pack 2015 Leaked

Earlier this morning Nike unveiled their brand new Nike Mercurial Superfly IV Spray Pack, where they coated their boots in some serious colour, which came in a unique spray design. Among them were naturally the always popular Mercurial boots, which we take a look at here.



The Nike Mercurial Superfly IV Spray Pack hardly needs an introduction anymore. It’s among the most popular football boots about and with another stunning colourway like this, it’s really no wonder why. The boots and especially, if you ask me, the Dynamic Fit Collar, which has an awesome tone-in-tone design, look great.




The Nike Mercurial Superfly Spray Pack feature perfectly compliments the Squadron Blue main colourway, as Nike call it, and I’m almost prepared to call this my favourite boot from the pack.



It took Nike ages to get Ronaldo out of his old Mercurial Superfly boots, but since switching to new boots he has been absolutely on fire. Now they will need him to change again and given his prolific record in the Lightning Storm Superfly they might struggle. He will naturally not be the only player wearing these, but it will be interesting to see if this new colourway tempts him. - I certainly would be.
